Kraum (2022) For Voices and Percussion
Kraum is written in 2022 for the Choir of Kjartan in Trondheim, Norway. Premiere to place in the Aarhus Cathedral, Denmark, at the Voiceland festival of Icelandic Choirs in Northern Europe. The title Kraum means “to simmer” which is appropriate for the piece’s character. The actual notation of Kraum is in an open semi-improvised form that composer Thórdarson has been exploring in recent years. The following is an example of the score.
